Camping in Newquay

At the begining of the Summer Dan and I went to Newquay for a long weekend. We both loved it's sandy Beaches and beautiful countryside and vowed to go back. We were recently talking to some of our Best Friends (Mat and Ruth) and suggested going to Newquay for a little camping trip. We never thought that it would actually happen but on the 5th September we made the 6 hour journey to Cornwall!

You wouldn't believe how much stuff we took! Dan and I were squashed in the back, amongst a gazebo, 4 chairs, a gas stove, 4 sleeping bags, 2 Tents, countless bags full of food, a suitcase and two large weekend bags. Luckily we had pillows to add a bit of comfort. Here is a photo of Mat and Dan. You can almost see how little space we had in the back.

It took us 6 hours to get to our campsite and although it was nice and sunny when we turned up it soon got pretty wet and muddy. It rained all of the first night and all of the next day.

We went to Padstow in search of Wellies (which we were in desperate need of!) The rain was getting heavier and all of our clothes were damp, our shoes were damp, our sleeping bags were damp, it was horrible. The Ukulele soon lifted our spirits ( as well as a lot of wine and Jager =P)

Dan is a bit too cool

The next day, we went a bit further from the campsite where the sun was shining. We found a lovely little beach at Chapel Porth.

The Beach was so beautiful and we all decided that we wanted to watch the sun set from the rocks on top of the hills.

It was such a perfect end to an amazing holiday. I can't wait to go back and hopefuly improve my surfing ;)
